Entity Overlay

Entity Overlay is a new interface that would allows multiple entity items to be created on one form without having to navigate to multiple pages.

Entity Overlay consist of 2 configurations: Dynamic Overlay - Parent and Dynamic Overlay - Related Entity. These two configurations are available via Entities, under System Entity Category Type.

1. Dynamic Overlay - Parent: This configuration specifies the top level of relationship in the overlay. The following are the configuration items for the parent Entity Type:
a. Dynamic Overlay Name: Name of the Overlay. For example: Prospect Setup.
b. Description: Description of the Overlay. This field is optional.
c. Parent Entity Type: The top level Parent Entity Type of the Overlay form. For example: Company (Entity Type).
d. Template: Dynamic Template use for the Parent Entity Type. For example: Company (Dynamic Template).
e. Is Active: Yes/No.

2. Dynamic Overlay - Related Entity: This configuration specifies all the related Entities that should be included in the Overlay.
a. Dynamic Overlay - Parent: External Datasource from Dynamic Overlay Parent. For example: Prospect Setup.
b. Dynamic Overlay - Parent Entity Type: Parent Entity Type. For example: Company.
c. Dynamic Overlay - Related Entity Type: Related Entity Type. for example: Contact.
d. Order: Order of the Related Entity in the Overlay.
e. Template: Dynamic Template use for the Related Entity Type.
f. Is Required: If this related Entity is required to create the Overlay.
g. Is Active: Yes/No

Sample of the Overlay Form:

The Overlay menu will be added to the Entity Type List as below. Noted: The user must have Create access to all Entity Type(s) in the Overlay; otherwise, he/she will receive a permission error when select Create new (Overlay) from the menu.

Once click the Overlay form will be displayed with the Parent and all related Entity Type(s).

Once click on Create, the system will create both Company and Contact and take the user to the Company view page:
